Charleston, South Carolina military officer, attorney, and surveyor. Richard W. Colcock graduated from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point in 1826. After resigning from the army, Colcock studied law, and in 1844 was appointed superintendent of The Citadel (Military College of South Carolina).
